"Ohio's Forgotten History" - a 450-page book filled with abandoned and forgotten places across Ohio.

Ohio's Forgotten History Part 1

Hospitals, schools, churches, theaters, hotels, homes, industry, bridges, diners, malls, amusement parks and more. Ohio holds a huge collection of history that continues to fade away. Eventually all that will be left of many of these places are the photographs and memories.

Ohio has so much incredible history that has been saved, but at the same time so much history that remains throughout these abandoned places, practically forgotten. I find it sad and fascinating that these places are tossed aside like they are. Though they have been forgotten, there is such an interesting beauty inside their walls, decay and all.

Factories such as the former Westinghouse, one of the most important in the history of the industrial revolution. George Westinghouse was also a pioneer of the electrical industry, gaining his first patent at the age of 19. His company had even employed Nikola Tesla. A former Westinghouse factory remains abandoned in Cleveland falling to pieces.

The former Paisley Farms pickle jarring factory (shown on the cover above) was abandoned for years and had become wildly overgrown before eventually being demolished. These photos hold its stories of years of abandonment.

Once the largest mall in America, Randall Park Mall once sat on land now occupied by an Amazon distribution center. The mall had sat crumbling for years, and in this book you will find photos and history of the rise and fall of the massive shopping center.

A church built in 1903, abandoned for 27 years nearly untouched.

Fanny's Diner in the village of Collinwood. A former home-style 1950s diner, demolished in 2018.

The industrial powerhouses that Ohio had become home to were some of the most important in history, and so many now sit abandoned, while some have been demolished. Companies that offered so much during World War II, rusting and rotting away. Cleveland was even home to the company that created the devices to monitor the Bikini Atoll nuclear tests.

Among these, this book contains photos and history of numerous other locations.
